Gong Meditation / Sound Bath

Photo of Sound Meditation / Sound Bath

Sound Meditation or sound baths are a relaxing, heart and mind-opening type of meditative experience that leaves you feeling wonderful. "Yoga and Sound Meditation or sound baths have changed the quality of my life, and I love to share this practice with everyone!"" Sound in meditation is a unique and fun way to relax, release the chatter in one's mind, and enjoy the space between thoughts. It can help remove blockages and re-align the energies in your body. It doesn't require any experience or special ability. Anyone can enjoy it!

I use breath work (pranayama), gongs, chimes, singing bowls, and other instruments to produce sounds that help participants relax, quiet the "monkey mind"", relieve stress, and achieve a meditative state through sound vibration. These benefits are very important in our busy modern lives.

Scientific studies have shown the health benefits of sound meditation. Stress is a major issue in our culture, and stress reduction is very important. This meditation is not just about listening to the sounds. It is also about feeling the vibrations and what they do to your body. Think of the vibrations in a pond when you toss a pebble into it. You are mostly composed of water, and the vibrations or waves move through you just as they do in the pond. Everything in the universe vibrates with energy. You are no exception! Join me on the second and fourth Wednesdays of the month. I promise you will float out of the octagon by the end of the session!

Josh is a long-time Ashton resident. He is a certified Raja Yoga meditation teacher. He trains with "Crown of Eternity" Gong Master Mike Tamburo and continues to seek universal knowledge from this study and practice.
